- Kelly : We had a pop up tornado years back. It was so sudden that the sirens didn't even go off until it was touching the ground.

- SumOfparts : Yes very bad day in Oklahoma today - In my 52 years here in OKC I've never seen anything like this - and we're veterans at this. Complete and utter devastation. Looks like a nuke went off one town south of us - Moore Ok. . we are all sick with rescue panic - Its going to be a long long night here.
- Kelly : Prayers to all our brothers and sisters in OK and surrounding areas. If you're not on FB, Jamie Robertson confirmed he and his family are ok. Storms aren't that close to him.

- Kelly : LOL. Husband was so excited for this past weekend. We got up at 7am Saturday to get ready to load the car....downpour rain. Checked radar.... 80% chance all day of rain. Crap... so no helis were brought, but we still went. Sunshined for most of the day, aside from an hour rain shower.
- HeliYaw : Next funfly there will be no wrenching. Just charging, fueling, and flying.

- Mouldy : Mark best to always leave servos disconected when you first setup a FBL unit until you have set those servo speeds and frequencies. Easy to say now after its happened of course. Bad luck :/

- Mark : Well, it made me re-evaluate my whole setup from ESC/BEC/CapPack, Servos etc. And especially the wiring. I thought I had everything neat and tidy but apparently not.

- Mark : A short, a spark, a flash and some smoke and the BEC is toast. I am not having a good day here!
- Mark : dammit! I was so close to finishing this build too.
- Mark : motors are fried. The gears turn freely when taken off the main housing. The motor gear is locked up. On all three of them. ugh. expensive mistake for sure. OK, so was it the leveling rods or the hot plug I did with the USB cable into the iKon that fried these motors? And, if they fry that easily what are my alternatives besides not doing stupid things? lol
- Mark : Looks like i will have to take one apart and see what I see. I might have stripped them by having one of those dumb moments. I forgot to remove the fusion level rods and powered them up and actually moved the sticks before realizing I had the rods installed. A "D'oh" moment for sure.

- fmcnick : have had an align servo have broke the pin loose inside from the cap and cause them to lock up
- fmcnick : model brand?
- Mark : They were working fine. Now nothing. Dead silent when I power up and locked up and not able to move when powered up or down. I removed the links. Tthey are seriously locked up.
- fmcnick : or during setup to pre center the servos as i build
- fmcnick : i use the jr match maker to test servos with. it has a dial or does a sweep on the servo. great for testing

- fmcnick : watched guy at the field smoke some servos that way
- fmcnick : you didnt turn it on with the blades still in the blade holder did ya.
- Full Montee : have they been working fine?
- Full Montee : I'd say remove the links from the servos leave the servo horns on. check them again.
- HeliYaw : Never force servos. Some servos can get locked when hyper-extended.
- Mark : I powered up the radio then the heli as usual and the only servo responding is the tail servo. All three cyclic servos are locked up tighter than a drum! I cannot move them by hand at all when powered down. Did I somehow just fry all three Cyclic servos?

- Mark : Had a great couple of sessions with Nick via Skype yesterday. He educated me on the ways of CC ESC and TX setup. All servos appear to moving properly now after reviewing basic iKon setup stuff.
- Mark : I am so close to getting this build done! I need to finish up the iKon programming as well as do a double check on swash level, zero pitch and travel limits, and finally confirmation and tweaking of the tail servo.

- EatSleep3D : @HeliYaw>> The rail blade arent swept they are chopped. Reducing the amount of bite in the blade but improving the high speed flying characteristics but lacking in pop for smack. The cyclone blades are the best of both worlds. Try a set back to back and you will see. They are a really cool design.

- junglegym : I'm not sure if this will work on a blade but I have used brass drifts before to knock out pressed in shafts
- Dankreed : you need to be careful with that, dont want to put any undue stress on the root

- junglegym : The 1010 can do 10 Amps but up to 10S
- fmcnick : he just updated firmware on them too. now they autosense too

- fmcnick : charge times much faster when your closer to the pack voltage and less heat on charger

- fmcnick : i was hard on lipos the first few years but since i got the hang of a good routine on them they lasting long time even on some occasions i beat on them to much

- fmcnick : we used strapping tape to hold them to the battry trays. and use some velcro up front over the battery as security thru the frame there
- junglegym : I picked up a pair of 4400 packs to start out with
- fmcnick : we like 3700 and 4000 packs the best in the 500. have a couple 4500s they are ok but some are close on clearance to the pully
- fmcnick : only use that 2700 for nija tic tocs
- fmcnick : your gonna like the 16 pully and 2400 headspeed. i fly that the most on my setup
- junglegym : I was going to switch my 450 over to ec5 connectors as well. Currently I only have one battery with deans (t plug)
- fmcnick : i like u can get more batts with ec5 already on them
- fmcnick : 5 easier to unplug then the 3's i have them on my 450 and they always get me
- fmcnick : buddies use those but dont let solder pour over makes it hard to snap in boot
- fmcnick : and link together. i take a magnet screwdriver tip over the male one and make a shrink wrap tube keep it from touching things
- junglegym : I was going to use the ec5 connectors on my goblin it's only at 6s
- fmcnick : i used castle 6mm bullets to battery leads, i like them on my 12s helis , and easy to leave the ground side hang out the canopy opening
- junglegym : Thanks. I was original just going to solder jumper wires to make it to the ESC but then I though it would be a pain to unplug when needed
- fmcnick : usualy the motor side
- fmcnick : depending on what i need to do
- fmcnick : then i have the jumper zipped tied on and can unhook the motor at top or esc at bottom
- fmcnick : i bought some deans wire 10 guage or 12 guage , used the bullets that came with the talon on 1 side and the bullets from motor on other side. bout 3 inches long as jumpers
- junglegym : Quick build question with the talon. Since it has bullet connectors in the ESC do you use them on the motor leads as well or just solder them to longer wires to make it to the esc
- junglegym : I picked up a 16T to start with. I'm just starting to get into sport flying. I bought the quantum 4120
- fmcnick : with the talon and the scorpion 1350's have had to drop the pulley to 17 to keep it from cutting out
- fmcnick : the goblin tail slid thou. had to loosen it up and resquare it. carbon didnt break luckly
- fmcnick : once it hit speed the tail wipped out and th'ed it
- fmcnick : never left the ground
- fmcnick : swapped it over fixed it back up and flew fine.

- fmcnick : buddy had changed his pully on the goblin 500 to a 17tooth and when we went to test fly all looked great, missed he had the belt on backwards
- fmcnick : i updated my 11x to a newfirmware and had to reprogram the fleet. messed that one up i see
- fmcnick : its a seasoned nitro with some broke in parts lol thought she was giving up the ghost
