I started flying RC helis in March of 2008 and never looked back.  My first heli was a Walkera 4#3.  That bird took me through the hovering and small circuits stage.  It also got me into repairing helis.....often, lol.  Looking back the smart choice would have been to get a larger heli, but I wanted something small and gadgety.  Being so small it was very responsive and I crashed it easily a hundred times or more in a couple months.  

After that I bought an HDX 300, which was a lemon from the start. It was my first CP heli and I learned alot about head setup on that bird as once again I crashed it ALOT.  This bird is where I learned about setting pitch, using loctite, proper tail setup, and general component placement.  I guess you could say this was my first “real” heli.  after a few months of crashing and rebuilding that bird, I bought a Gaui 200 used from a dentist on helifreak, and I have never looked back.  from the first time I spooled that heli up I fell in love with the brand.  I still have that bird, which was a V1, and I have added a 200 V2,  a Gaui 550, and an X5.  I also became a field rep for Gaui and Empire Hobby, which I did simply because I am a devoted fan of the brand, and because I like to help others learn about the hobby and how to setup their birds. 

There are a few other heli pilots around where I live but there is not really a heli scene so to speak, we get together and fly at funflys, and occasionally at the local mostly airplane field.  Because of this I spend most of my time talking shop in the forums and on skype.  I am nexgen on pretty much any of the heli forums and can be found in the cloud most days.  I also have a blog where I consolidate the build threads, build videos, tips and tricks, and other info about me and my birds HERE
